About Rescue 2 Rehab
We rescue dogs from high kill shelters, as well as from other dangerous and abusive situations.
Some of these dogs require intense medical attention as well as a safe place to re-enter back
into this world.
During this process some of the dogs stand out as those that might be a candidate for the initial evaluations stage for becoming a service, therapy and emotional support dogs for people in
need i.e PTSD, Autism Spectrum, Emotional/Mental and Developmental Needs. Dogs that pass the
initial evaluation will go on to the first stage of training. Dogs that pass the initial evaluation will go on
to the first stage of training. Dogs that do not pass the initial evaluation stage are put back on the
available list to be adopted.
We are currently in the process of searching for additional qualified trainers and fosters just for these dogs. Part of the mission is to make these dogs available to those that normally wouldn't be able to
afford them, yet so desperately need them.
Rescue 2 Rehab is also a sanctuary for dogs with special needs, blind, deaf, medical issues, etc.
More times than not these dogs fall through the cracks because they are not considered
"adoptable" by the shelters that they find themselves in. Rescue 2 Rehab offers these dogs a
safe haven and a second chance at life, whether that be eventually finding their perfect forever
home or living out their natural life with us. The most critical are kept in a home type setting to
help facilitate their recovery.
Animal Rescue is expensive. Every animal we bring in requires some immediate medical attention.
Many require boarding and training as well. Those three items - veterinary attention, boarding, and
training - account for almost 95% of our expenses. Whereas many animal rescue groups raise the
bulk of their funds through grants, we've always believed that the majority of our money should be
raised through interacting with people, rather than filling out forms. When we put on a fundraising
event, or someone clicks the PayPal donate button or become a monthly sponsor we don't just
raise money, we hope to form bonds with our supporters.
